Zenaido Ligero made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Xantalen Amandi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Velasco Gener tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Velasco Gener made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Xantalen Amandi sent off a good shot on target. When Calisto Llantada came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the 【❤】 VALE 【❤】 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Calisto Llantada couldn't finish the play. In the 39th match minute, 【❤】 VALE 【❤】 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pico Alaiz to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in UD Marsella's zone, Angulo Herrea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zenaido Ligero came out of the goal and Angulo Herrea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Angulo Herrea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. UD Marsella's Zenaido Ligero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Calisto Llantada in the 44th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Méndez Monsagrati managed to get in a good position for a shot. UD Marsella's supporters rose to their feet, but Méndez Monsagrati was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Velasco Gener breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Méndez Monsagrati was the one to do the kick off. UD Marsella's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Venceslao Lape in the 56th minute. After 57 played minutes UD Marsella got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Baptista. A collision led to 【❤】 VALE 【❤】 getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Carlos Sancho hit a great ball. 63 minutes into the match, Adolfo Mazorra had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Velasco Gener. 【❤】 VALE 【❤】's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Adolfo Mazorra was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Calisto Llantada's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zenaido Ligero read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Xantalen Amandi in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Velasco Gener saved 【❤】 VALE 【❤】 from getting behind. Angulo Herrea came free with the goalkeeper in the 72nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Zenaido Ligero could save by the left post. The supporters of 【❤】 VALE 【❤】 booed when UD Marsella was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adolfo Mazorra didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 81st play minute Angulo Herrea came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Zenaido Ligero. 1-2. Xantalen Amandi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
