Denis Puget was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 16 minutes into the match. 16 minutes into the game, one of CD Huasimal:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave UD Guanaje a penalty, 18 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Hurtado Beite, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of CD Huasimal's Rafael Cabrero. 0-1. Umbruso Aguilar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Rafael Cabrero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 30th minute of the match, Franklin Arsuaga got a very nice opportunity to score, but Jefferson Galvão was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 34 minutes into the match, CD Huasimal's goal looked a bit too open when Vilson Sota came free, but Rafael Cabrero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Franklin Arsuaga was the one to do the kick off. Franklin Arsuaga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jefferson Galvão having to interfere. A collision led to CD Huasimal getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Vasco Benero hit a great ball. UD Guanaje's Jefferson Galvão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Franklin Arsuaga in the 70th minute of play. In the 71st minute, Franklin Arsuaga made a precise shot to the right of Jefferson Galvão. UD Guanaje's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1.
