Spectators: 33 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) After a defensive mix-up in S. Sport Guayaquil's zone, Duarte Corres stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zenon Tercero came out of the goal and Duarte Corres tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to S. Sport Guayaquil getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Dario Lape hit a great ball. Duarte Corres's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zenon Tercero read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Ambrossi Cobreros managed to get in a good position for a shot. S. Sport Guayaquil's supporters rose to their feet, but Ambrossi Cobreros was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Asensio Ezquerra breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Ramos Roncal fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored S. Sport Guayaquil's protests and gave Ramos Roncal a yellow card for diving instead. In the 18th match minute, S. Sport Guayaquil was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ramos Roncal to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 20th minute of the game. One of Union SC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of S. Sport Guayaquil:s goal. Ramos Roncal placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! López Constante sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If De-la-Cruz Merino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ambrossi Cobreros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Asensio Ezquerra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 33 minutes into the match, Union SC's goal looked a bit too open when Ambrossi Cobreros came free, but Asensio Ezquerra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Asensio Ezquerra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ambrossi Cobreros in the 35th minute of the match. Ambrossi Cobreros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Duarte Corres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Zenon Tercero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Leo Viscon stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Humberto Urbistondo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Asensio Ezquerra having to make a save. Asensio Ezquerra didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ambrossi Cobreros went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. 58 minutes into the game, S. Sport Guayaquil's Humberto Urbistondo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Asensio Ezquerra made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. S. Sport Guayaquil's Zenon Tercero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leo Viscon in the 62nd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dario Lape during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 65 played minutes S. Sport Guayaquil got a freekick which was hit by Dario Lape. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Humberto Urbistondo in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Asensio Ezquerra prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Humberto Urbistondo came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the S. Sport Guayaquil fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Humberto Urbistondo couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Union SC's Jacinto Pantigoso got a free kick in the 79th minute. Asensio Ezquerra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Humberto Urbistondo, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. After some careless play in the Union SC defense, Ambrossi Cobreros kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Asensio Ezquerra. The Union SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Asensio Ezquerra should have stopped the shot. In the 87th minute, Dario Lape hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Asensio Ezquerra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ambrossi Cobreros in the 91st minute of the match. Zenon Tercero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leo Viscon, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute.
