The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When the match had gone on for 7 minutes, Vellito Vara put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Ortiz Cillero. If Bagui Villarias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ortiz Cillero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bagui Villarias in the 19th minute of the match. In the 19th minute, Humberto Aulestia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 21st minute, Armando Ayllon got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Inchiyacu FC's Jacinto Viurra shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 25th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Nicolás Mojon but with some difficulty. Julian Lombera was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 30 minutes into the match. In the 30th match minute, Inchiyacu FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Julian Lombera to maneuver through the defense. In the 31st minute Xaiver Collazo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ortiz Cillero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bagui Villarias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ortiz Cillero having to interfere. Ortiz Cillero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vellito Vara in the 35th minute of the match. After 36 minutes of play, Cuenca FC's Vellito Vara made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ortiz Cillero was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Bagui Villarias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vellito Vara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ortiz Cillero having to interfere. Inchiyacu FC's Ortiz Cillero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bagui Villarias in the 46th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Vellito Vara's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ortiz Cillero was relentless in the 47th minute of the game.

When the match had gone on for 55 minutes, Vellito Vara took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Ortiz Cillero to make any attempt to save it. After having played for 59 minutes, Vellito Vara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cuenca FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vellito Vara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Bagui Villarias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Krikorian Abraldez kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. If Vellito Vara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vellito Vara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Ortiz Cillero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Vellito Vara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. Inchiyacu FC's Ortiz Cillero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vellito Vara in the 76th minute of play. Alberto Osuna kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Inchiyacu FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 86th minute, when Vellito Vara scored to the left of an out of position Ortiz Cillero, making the score, 1-4. When Cuenca FC's Vellito Vara in the 90th minute got a chance for a shot 90th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Inchiyacu FC's goalie prevented a goal. Ortiz Cillero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vellito Vara in the 94th minute of play. After having played for 95 minutes, Vellito Vara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cuenca FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vellito Vara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the final whistle sounded Cuenca FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Inchiyacu FC.
