Cotera Corvera charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cotera Corvera the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Dep. Ind. Guayaquil's Cotera Corvera got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Moises Bonal in the 4th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zuñiga Rebellon prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 9 played minutes Dep. Ind. Guayaquil got a freekick which was hit by Cotera Corvera. Cortez Solo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Zuñiga Rebellon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zuñiga Rebellon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Moises Bonal's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Wilson Horihuela during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 21 minutes into the match, Walme Michel dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Victor Amezua, 1-0. Caicedo Bolantin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Victor Amezua having to make a save. The long shot by Mendez Hedesa in the 29th minute really tested Victor Amezua's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Caicedo Bolantin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 39 minutes, Mercado Usategui managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Salate FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mercado Usategui was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Salate FC's Victor Amezua played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Walme Michel in the 43rd minute of play. Victor Amezua made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Caicedo Bolantin sent off a good shot on target. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Walme Michel made the kick off in the second half. Dep. Ind. Guayaquil's Zuñiga Rebellon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Dep. Ind. Guayaquil from getting a goal against them. If Moises Bonal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cortez Solos short, quick shot in the 60thth minute got Zuñiga Rebellon to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 61 played minutes Dep. Ind. Guayaquil got a freekick which was hit by Gutierrez Loma. Victor Amezua made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Walme Michel in the 66th minute of play. 70 minutes into the game, Moises Bonal lined in a short shot 1-1 behind a frustrated Zuñiga Rebellon. Moises Bonal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Zuñiga Rebellon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Amador Bonjoch hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walme Michel in the 79th minute of play forced Salate FC's goalkeeper Victor Amezua to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Moises Bonal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 85 played minutes Salate FC got a freekick which was hit by Unax Confercin. Caicedo Bolantin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Victor Amezua tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Caicedo Bolantin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victor Amezua having to interfere. Unax Confercin kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Victor Amezua showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amador Bonjoch, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute.
