CD Cuajaron's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lucas Laures was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Roberto Veraza prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 23 minutes into the match, CD Cuajaron's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Salablanca came free, but Parisi Barrena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Curiquingue SC's Polo Moyeda got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Polo Moyeda put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Parisi Barrena. After a rather tough play, CD Cuajaron's Erwin Cembranos got a free kick in the 39th minute. Weterio Cerillo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roberto Veraza having to interfere. Cristian Salablanca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Parisi Barrena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Weterio Cerillo to make the kick off. If Erwin Cembranos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jonathan Pozos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 59th minute Cristian Salablanca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Parisi Barrena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. CD Cuajaron's supporters rose to their feet, but Lucas Laures was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roberto Veraza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Curiquingue SC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
