If Ysmael Torne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 17 minutes into the match, Emelec SC's goal looked a bit too open when Christobal Lasarte came free, but Facundo Otero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Facundo Otero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christobal Lasarte in the 18th minute of the match. Rodrigo Sobrino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Facundo Otero having to interfere. With his leg Alfredo Sobrino managed to avoid a goal in the 24thth minute, when Emelec SC's Grueso Ronda fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Facundo Otero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vidal Bono, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 29th minute Ysmael Torne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredo Sobrino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alfredo Sobrino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Grueso Ronda in the 32nd minute of the match. After 34 played minutes Emelec SC got a freekick which was hit by Fernando Miruena. If Grueso Ronda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fernando Miruena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredo Sobrino having to interfere. Facundo Otero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Calle Capelo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 46 played minutes HELLSING got a freekick which was hit by Villota Murillas. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Christobal Lasarte to make the kick off. Emelec SC's Grueso Ronda got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Emelec SC booed when HELLSING was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ubaldo Aragones didn't get a good kick on the ball. 60 minutes into the game, Emelec SC's Grueso Ronda nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alfredo Sobrino made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Ysmael Torne struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Alfredo Sobrino didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Emelec SC. Grueso Ronda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Alfredo Sobrino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Grueso Ronda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 70th match minute, Emelec SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Venceslao Altares to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in HELLSING's zone, Aurelio Oñatibia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alfredo Sobrino came out of the goal and Aurelio Oñatibia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Emelec SC's Facundo Otero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vidal Bono in the 78th minute of play. In the 84th minute, Ysmael Torne left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Emelec SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. If Xosepin Urones had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Venceslao Altares kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Coyette Laguno charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Coyette Laguno the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to HELLSING getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Coyette Laguno hit a great ball. In the 95thth minute of the game Grueso Ronda who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but HELLSING's Alfredo Sobrino was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the HELLSING players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Emelec SC.
