The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jorge Beamud sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 13th match minute, Adiós a la Tri Alejandro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José-Luis Bazo to maneuver through the defense. If Villota Sandin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Viteri Perucho kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. In the 33rd match minute, Celica SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paz Colina to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Villota Sandin in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lisandro Santander saved Celica SC from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Adiós a la Tri Alejandro's Yépez Heyros got a free kick in the 45th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Paz Colina managed to get in a good position for a shot. Celica SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Paz Colina was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ramiro Llosa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Paz Colina to make the kick off. Celica SC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Roldan Merlo in the 54th minute. After taking down the ball on Celica SC's corner Paulo Escuza fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ramiro Llosa quite easily take care of the ball. In the 55th minute, Paulo Escuza made a precise shot to the right of Ramiro Llosa. Adiós a la Tri Alejandro's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. In a very dangerous position, a player in Celica SC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 66th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Adiós a la Tri Alejandro a penalty, 68 minutes into the game. In the 78thth minute of the game Villota Sandin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Celica SC's Lisandro Santander was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eduardo Somonte in the 79th minute of play forced Celica SC's goalkeeper Lisandro Santander to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Villota Sandins short, quick shot in the 81stth minute got Lisandro Santander to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Villota Sandin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 89 minutes into the game, Eduardo Somonte recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Lisandro Santander. Eduardo Somonte showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-3. In the 98th minute, Jorge Beamud got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
