Romo Rigual fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Batista Urquiza having to interfere. After 11 played minutes UD Capiro got a freekick which was hit by Díaz Guruzeta. When Udalaitz Covielles came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the OLIMPO F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Udalaitz Covielles couldn't finish the play. Xilo Zahonero who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 24thth minute tested the skills of Juan-Carlos Hero when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The supporters of UD Capiro booed when OLIMPO F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. José-Luis Isasi didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Xilo Zahonero got free with Juan-Carlos Hero in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, UD Capiro's Xilo Zahonero got a free kick in the 31st minute. 32 minutes into the match, UD Capiro's goal looked a bit too open when Udalaitz Covielles came free, but Batista Urquiza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 37 minutes, Romo Rigual managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. OLIMPO F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Romo Rigual was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Díaz Guruzeta fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored UD Capiro's protests and gave Díaz Guruzeta a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to UD Capiro getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Díaz Guruzeta hit a great ball. In the 48th minute, Udalaitz Covielles left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The OLIMPO F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After the first half OLIMPO F.C. were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Udalaitz Covielles stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Guamán Melgarejo in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Juan-Carlos Hero saved OLIMPO F.C. from getting behind. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind UD Capiro's goalkeeper Batista Urquiza, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Juan-Carlos Hero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xilo Zahonero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 68 minutes into the match, OLIMPO F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Xilo Zahonero came free, but Juan-Carlos Hero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 70 minutes, Udalaitz Covielles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. OLIMPO F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Udalaitz Covielles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 74th minute, Xilo Zahonero got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Batista Urquiza was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Udalaitz Covielles showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-2 in the 78 minute of play. Udalaitz Covielles was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 82nd minute. OLIMPO F.C.'s manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. OLIMPO F.C.'s Udalaitz Covielles got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Díaz Guruzeta kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Mauricio Cañeda's late challenge caught a UD Capiro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mauricio Cañeda helped the player get up and apologised.
