Agustin Riero scored 1-1 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ignacio Mejia, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 19th minute, UD Guallagro's David Inchausti dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. Unai Mollinedo might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jacinto Abajas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Unai Mollinedo ran back to his position shaking his head. Unai Mollinedos short, quick shot in the 31stth minute got Jacinto Abajas to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. UD Guallagro's Ignacio Mejia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agustin Riero in the 44th minute of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when David Inchausti stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Unai Mollinedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 87th minute, Unai Mollinedo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 93 minutes into the match, UD Guallagro's David Inchausti sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jacinto Abajas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Unai Mollinedo in the 94th minute of play forced CD Namarin's goalkeeper Jacinto Abajas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The UD Guallagro fans cheered their team off the field, for while CD Namarin had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
