After a defensive mix-up in Ranchito SC's zone, Valencia Moreira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dario Ameyugo came out of the goal and Valencia Moreira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 12th minute, Peter Lambarida ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Espiga Acedo was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Aurelio Verastegui's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dario Ameyugo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Reyes Calderona's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Espiga Acedo was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. Dario Ameyugo was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bustos Barbot during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Valencia Moreira stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as CD Toachi's Aurelio Verastegui slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Dario Ameyugo. That made the score 1-3 after 53 minutes of play. Aurelio Verastegui fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dario Ameyugo having to interfere.
