When Hector-Luis Negro fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored jonyfc's protests and gave Hector-Luis Negro a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, jonyfc's Hector-Luis Negro got a free kick in the 3rd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jacobo Salmeron during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 6 minutes into the game, one of jonyfc:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. CD Atuntaqui's Alarcón Pedroso got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Xacobo Rosales made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alarcón Pedroso in the 17th minute of play. Iza Serbia blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sergio Peon having to make a save. In the 23rd minute Luis Lupidana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sergio Peon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sergio Peon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Lupidana in the 24th minute of the match. In the 26th minute, jonyfc's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Alarcón Pedroso fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Luis Lupidana scored 1-1 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sergio Peon, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Xefe Govelo hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. In the 37th minute, Jacobo Salmeron sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and CD Atuntaqui's Sergio Peon didn't even have to move. In the 39th minute, Luis Lupidana left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The jonyfc fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. With an all-out effort, CD Atuntaqui's Xacobo Rosales threw himself towards the right post 45 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Alarcón Pedroso, which otherwise would have been placed in the net.

Sergio Peon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lisandro Dragranda, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. After 52 played minutes CD Atuntaqui got a freekick which was hit by Xefe Govelo. Sergio Peon made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Luis Lupidana sent off a good shot on target. If Luis Lupidana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 66th minute, Ambrossi Boldu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sergio Peon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Iza Serbia in the 67th minute. Luis Lupidana kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. After 71 minutes, Xefe Govelo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CD Atuntaqui and the jonyfc players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of CD Atuntaqui booed when jonyfc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lisandro Dragranda didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alarcón Pedroso in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Xacobo Rosales prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 91st minute Luis Lupidana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sergio Peon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alarcón Pedroso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Agustín Yturrondo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The CD Atuntaqui supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching jonyfc's performance. The match ended with a win for jonyfc.
