Urtats Reborio started the match with the kick off. After 3 played minutes, Vilcabamba's Peter Crujeiras shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Cántaro Avellana came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Vilcabamba reached it. After 6 played minutes Vilcabamba got a freekick which was hit by Flavio Covillas. Manuel Lumbreras made an important save on a dangerous shot by Oscar Yzaguirre in the 7th minute. If Oscar Yzaguirre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of UD Nueva booed when Vilcabamba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Burbano Valcarcel didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Oscar Yzaguirre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Oscar Yzaguirre fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manuel Lumbreras having to interfere. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vilcabamba's goalkeeper Manuel Lumbreras, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Urtats Reborio's late challenge caught a Vilcabamba's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Urtats Reborio helped the player get up and apologised. Urtats Reborio hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. The supporters of UD Nueva booed when Vilcabamba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Burbano Valcarcel didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 40th minute, Celso Cainzos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cántaro Avellana was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Urtats Reborio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Manuel Lumbreras read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. Vilcabamba's Manuel Lumbreras proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Vilcabamba from getting a goal against them.

Burbano Valcarcel's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 52ndth minute, Cántaro Avellana skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Celso Cainzos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alex Aulestia was extremely unlucky when he, in the 63rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Burbano Valcarcel received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Cántaro Avellana came out and tried to block the shot, but Burbano Valcarcel slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 72nd minute. In the 75th minute Urtats Reborio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manuel Lumbreras saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Alex Aulestia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 86th minute of the match, Celso Cainzos got a very nice opportunity to score, but Cántaro Avellana was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. When Alex Aulestia came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Vilcabamba fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alex Aulestia couldn't finish the play. 91 minutes into the match, Celso Cainzos notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of UD Nueva's Cántaro Avellana. Cántaro Avellana was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 95 played minutes Vilcabamba got a freekick which was hit by Burbano Valcarcel. When the final whistle sounded Vilcabamba left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than UD Nueva.
