Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling López Cavero in the 4th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Xzavier Riaza prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lorenzo Cortada sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 9 played minutes López Cavero rounded Canalaurco SC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. If Xepe Ugalde had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 15 minutes, Paolo Ungia mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Atletico Pumas and the Canalaurco SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Canalaurco SC booed when Atletico Pumas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paolo Ungia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Xzavier Blancas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Orlando Sendin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Agrelo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 23rd minute Xepe Ugalde shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Orlando Sendin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 24 minutes into the game, Xzavier Blancas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Orlando Sendin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Xzavier Riaza was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but López Cavero showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 29 minute of play. Carlos Agrelo charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Carlos Agrelo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 36th match minute, Canalaurco SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Agrelo to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 41 minutes, Xepe Ugalde managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Canalaurco SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Xepe Ugalde was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lorenzo Cortada might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Xzavier Riaza. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lorenzo Cortada ran back to his position shaking his head. If Lorenzo Cortada had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Xzavier Blancas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Orlando Sendin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

Xzavier Riaza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from López Cavero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 54 minutes, Uhin Larios mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Canalaurco SC and the Atletico Pumas players grew even worse after the yellow card. The audience was convinced that Lorenzo Cortada's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Xzavier Riaza was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. López Cavero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xzavier Riaza having to interfere. Orlando Sendin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Atletico Pumas's Zaquiel Arzalaga got a free kick in the 68th minute. Orlando Sendin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xzavier Blancas in the 70th minute of play. In the 76thth minute of the game Lorenzo Cortada who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Canalaurco SC's Xzavier Riaza was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With his leg Orlando Sendin managed to avoid a goal in the 79thth minute, when Canalaurco SC's Xepe Ugalde fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Xofre Matas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Xzavier Riaza having to make a save. 97 minutes into the game, one of Canalaurco SC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Atletico Pumas a penalty, 98 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Santiago Gian, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Canalaurco SC's Xzavier Riaza. 3-1. For all the effort they put into the match, the Canalaurco SC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Atletico Pumas.
