Xuban Ibarlucea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dario Sagarribay in the 26th minute of the match. Dario Sagarribay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ibarra Sotillo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfonso Blanco having to interfere. The supporters of CD Saguapirca booed when UD Malpelo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. José-Manuel Valcarcel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zunbeltz Anillo might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alfonso Blanco. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zunbeltz Anillo ran back to his position shaking his head. When the match had gone on for 36 minutes, Zunbeltz Anillo took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Alfonso Blanco to make any attempt to save it. In the 40th minute, Zunbeltz Anillo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alfonso Blanco made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Wilfredo Morelo sent off a good shot on target. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Xuban Ibarlucea was a little too slow when Valery Cera got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 54th minute. The score was now 2-2. 59 minutes into the match, UD Malpelo's Xosepe Momparte sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Xuban Ibarlucea narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 63rd minute, CD Saguapirca's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Dario Sagarribay fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. If Xosepe Momparte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Xosepe Momparte's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 66thth minute, Xuban Ibarlucea skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Xuban Ibarlucea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dario Sagarribay in the 68th minute of the match. In the 71st minute Wilfredo Morelo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfonso Blanco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Wilfredo Morelo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the UD Malpelo players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
