The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 23 minutes into the match, Cerro SC's goal looked a bit too open when Sebastian Cariton came free, but Ricardo Fano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jonatan Veladiez to make the kick off. When Vitin Bobe came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Deportivo Cuenca fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vitin Bobe couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Jácome Cardenas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cerro SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jácome Cardenas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ximenes Rabago breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 69th minute, Jácome Cardenas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ximenes Rabago was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. In the 72nd minute Jácome Cardenas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ximenes Rabago saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Deportivo Cuenca fans' excitement grew in the 75th match minute when Deportivo Cuenca's Jonatan Veladiez looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. Ximenes Rabago showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Asensio Escobar in the 89th minute of the match. Jácome Cardenas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ximenes Rabago read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. 93 minutes into the game, Jácome Cardenas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-3. Ximenes Rabago was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Deportivo Cuenca's zone, Asensio Escobar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ximenes Rabago came out of the goal and Asensio Escobar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
