The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ramos Cardigondi might have been able to make a better finish in the 3rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cristobal Gotor. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ramos Cardigondi ran back to his position shaking his head. Titaicun SC's Cristobal Gotor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fiallos Valdevielso in the 10th minute of play. If Ramos Cardigondi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When UD Cuenca's Sergio Guia in the 14th minute got a chance for a shot 14th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Titaicun SC's goalie prevented a goal. If Fiallos Valdevielso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. In the 21st minute Ramos Cardigondi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristobal Gotor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 25 minutes into the match, UD Cuenca's goalkeeper Alberto Chandeiro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zeruko Urtueta. Cristobal Gotor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ramos Cardigondi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Pedro Maruca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When UD Cuenca's Sergio Guia in the 36th minute got a chance for a shot 36th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Titaicun SC's goalie prevented a goal. 37 minutes into the match, Titaicun SC's goal looked a bit too open when Sergio Guia came free, but Cristobal Gotor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. UD Cuenca's Ramos Cardigondi got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, UD Cuenca's Alberto Chandeiro got control of the ball when Zeruko Urtueta tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 45th minute Ramos Cardigondi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristobal Gotor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, UD Cuenca's Sergio Guia got a free kick in the 46th minute. Pedro Maruca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alberto Chandeiro having to interfere.

Cristobal Gotor made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Ramos Cardigondi sent off a good shot on target. Sergio Guia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ramos Cardigondi's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Cristobal Gotor firmly grabbed it by the left post. Sergio Guia kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Fiallos Valdevielso kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. A collision led to Titaicun SC getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Baldeón Gamones hit a great ball. Titaicun SC's Pedro Maruca got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cristobal Gotor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sergio Guia in the 67th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zeruko Urtueta in the 69th minute of play forced UD Cuenca's goalkeeper Alberto Chandeiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Titaicun SC's Cristobal Gotor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sergio Guia in the 76th minute of play. 76 minutes into the match, Sergio Guia notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Titaicun SC's Cristobal Gotor. Cristobal Gotor was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When UD Cuenca's Ramos Cardigondi, in the 81st minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for UD Cuenca. In the 83rd of the match, Sergio Guia tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Cristobal Gotor got in the way and made a wonderful save. In the 87th match minute, UD Cuenca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fiallos Valdevielso to maneuver through the defense. Cristobal Gotor was a little too slow when Sergio Guia got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 89th minute. The score was now 0-3. The UD Cuenca supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing UD Cuenca would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
