In the 28th minute, Valentine Santiso reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Rafael Zaldivar. The goal made the score 1-1. After having played for 38 minutes, Dedê Lopez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Monosalvaje SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dedê Lopez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Urcusiqui FC's Valentine Santiso got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gonzalo Antigua received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Rafael Zaldivar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The wind increased when Valentine Santiso made the kick off in the second half. Rafael Zaldivar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gonzalo Antigua in the 56th minute of the match. After 75 minutes, Monge Cercalde mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Monosalvaje SC and the Urcusiqui FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 75th match minute, Monosalvaje SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Monge Cercalde to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, José-Francisco Muriedas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Monosalvaje SC's supporters rose to their feet, but José-Francisco Muriedas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Polo Lugo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Monosalvaje SC fans' excitement grew in the 79th match minute when Monosalvaje SC's Emanuel Herruz looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Rafael Zaldivar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gonzalo Antigua, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. But to his dismay, Emanuel Herruz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Xavier Vasquez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Polo Lugo having to make a save. If Emanuel Herruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Monosalvaje SC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
