The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ernesto Casiraghi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xicu Candia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 14 minutes into the match, Barcelona SC's goal looked a bit too open when Aguinaga Oton came free, but Ernesto Casiraghi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 17 minutes Barcelona SC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Calderón Panadero who took care of the corner kick. CD Jigua's Calderón Panadero was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ernesto Casiraghi in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Ernesto Casiraghi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aguinaga Oton's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Xicu Candia managed to get in a good position for a shot. CD Jigua's supporters rose to their feet, but Xicu Candia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ernesto Casiraghi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ernesto Casiraghi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aguinaga Oton in the 31st minute of play. 34 minutes into the match, Aguinaga Oton had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ernesto Casiraghi. Barcelona SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Aguinaga Oton was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. When the match had gone on for 39 minutes, Fidel Arena took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Roris Sorondo to make any attempt to save it. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Roque Muñio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernesto Casiraghi having to interfere. Ernesto Casiraghi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aguinaga Oton in the 89th minute of the match. Roris Sorondo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fidel Arena in the 90th minute of the match. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Barcelona SC had played much better football throughout.
