The supporters of Atletico Guayaquil booed when Higueroncito was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Celso Licon didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 15th minute Alessandro Llain shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gelmiro Bergada saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 20 minutes, Brama Sudaryono made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Higueroncito's Fabio Larramendi tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Fabio Larramendi didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Atletico Guayaquil's Brama Sudaryono shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 3-0 in the ordered_time% minute. With a little luck, Higueroncito's Fabio Larramendi got control of the ball when Brama Sudaryono tried to sneak it across the goal line. Edgar Cainzos hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Virgilio Luengas kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. 46 minutes into the match, Alessandro Llain notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Atletico Guayaquil's Gelmiro Bergada. Gelmiro Bergada was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Urti Nevares made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Higueroncito's zone, Brama Sudaryono stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fabio Larramendi came out of the goal and Brama Sudaryono tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nicolas Moro charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nicolas Moro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Higueroncito's Fabio Larramendi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bruno Toria in the 67th minute of play. After 75 played minutes Higueroncito got a freekick which was hit by Celso Licon. In the 77th minute of the match Casado Labora shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fabio Larramendi showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Fabio Larramendi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Brama Sudaryono's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. Higueroncito's Fabio Larramendi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brama Sudaryono in the 81st minute of play. Atletico Guayaquil's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
