Jairo Parserises sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 12th minute, Jairo Parserises left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Fabiola FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. The supporters of CD Huaquillas booed when Fabiola FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zoil Corredera didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Javier Arando in the 23rd minute of play forced Fabiola FC's goalkeeper Blanco Berrez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jairo Parserises fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Armona having to interfere. Rafael Cabo's late challenge caught a Fabiola FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rafael Cabo helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Fabiola FC booed when CD Huaquillas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rafael Cabo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Videl Añoza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Armona having to interfere. 33 minutes into the match, Fabiola FC's Videl Añoza sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pedro Armona narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Fabiola FC booed when CD Huaquillas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xzaiver Donallo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pedro Armona took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Videl Añoza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pedro Armona made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Videl Añoza in the 39th minute of play. Videl Añoza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Armona having to interfere. Pedro Armona showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Videl Añoza, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Xosepe Beyso was the one to do the kick off. Blanco Berrez didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 55th minute, which inside left pole to 1-2. After 62 minutes, Jairo Parserises made it 2-2 with a short kick to the right side. CD Huaquillas's Pedro Armona tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 72 minutes, Xosepe Beyso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CD Huaquillas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Xosepe Beyso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pedro Armona made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jairo Parserises in the 77th minute of play. When Erwin Dolarea fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CD Huaquillas's protests and gave Erwin Dolarea a yellow card for diving instead. In the 79th minute, one of CD Huaquillas:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for CD Huaquillas. Videl Daza walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. 89 minutes into the game, Xosepe Beyso recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Blanco Berrez. Xosepe Beyso showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-3. In the 93rd minute Jairo Parserises shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Armona saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 96 minutes into the match, Ortíz Astoreca notched a goal, 3-3, to the right of CD Huaquillas's Pedro Armona. Pedro Armona was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 99 minutes, Videl Añoza mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fabiola FC and the CD Huaquillas players grew even worse after the yellow card. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
