If Angel Puente had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alfredo Bengoechea made an important save on a dangerous shot by Angel Puente in the 6th minute. In the last second Alfredo Bengoechea throw himself and got hold of the ball when Angel Puente in the 10thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. C.S EMELEC's Moisés Igartua played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Denis Grados in the 11th minute of play. In the 15th minute Segundo Pernia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Moisés Igartua saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alfredo Bengoechea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilson Samperio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A long shot from Sánchez Costales in the 19th minute of play was well struck, but Alfredo Bengoechea made a really good save at the right post. Leonardo Diaz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alfredo Bengoechea having to make a save. If Leonardo Diaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Angel Puente in the 28th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Alfredo Bengoechea kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 1-0 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. With a little luck, Villacres FC's Alfredo Bengoechea got control of the ball when Leonardo Diaz tried to sneak it across the goal line. Leonardo Diaz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 37th minute Cruz Aranzana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredo Bengoechea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leonardo Diaz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Alfredo Bengoechea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 45 minutes into the game, Chatruc Inguanzo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Moisés Igartua was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.

The wind increased when Angel Puente made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Villacres FC's goalkeeper Alfredo Bengoechea, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 56 minutes into the match, Leonardo Diaz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alfredo Bengoechea. Villacres FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Leonardo Diaz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Cruz Aranzana scored 3-1 in the 66th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alfredo Bengoechea, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Alfredo Bengoechea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cruz Aranzana in the 70th minute of play. Leonardo Diaz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Segundo Pernia scored 3-2 in the 73rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Moisés Igartua, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. C.S EMELEC's Angel Puente got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 80thth minute of the game Angel Puente who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Villacres FC's Alfredo Bengoechea was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Alfredo Bengoechea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilson Samperio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Leonardo Diaz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Alfredo Bengoechea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Angel Puente took the ball and in the 88 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alfredo Bengoechea. Alfredo Bengoechea dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-2. Moisés Igartua showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Denis Grados in the 94th minute of the match. There was no doubt that C.S EMELEC were the better team. C.S EMELEC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
