After 36 played minutes, Villacres FC's Macías Palomar shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Eduardo Pedraza came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Villacres FC reached it. In the 38th minute Chatruc Inguanzo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eduardo Pedraza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eduardo Pedraza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Segundo Pernia in the 43rd minute of play. José Folle blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alfredo Bengoechea having to make a save. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

El Nacional's Ignacio Humara got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. José Folle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredo Bengoechea having to interfere. In the 58th minute, Villacres FC's Denis Grados dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. After a rather tough play, Villacres FC's Bone Tojedo got a free kick in the 77th minute. 79 minutes into the match, José Folle notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Villacres FC's Alfredo Bengoechea. Alfredo Bengoechea was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
