Aires Cortadelles hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hector Perramon in the 17th minute of play forced Yuracruz's goalkeeper Costante Caro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zornin Oseguera might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Costante Caro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zornin Oseguera ran back to his position shaking his head. If Hector Perramon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When Vergaray Arriola came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Yuracruz fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vergaray Arriola couldn't finish the play. Tenorio Rubina made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vergaray Arriola in the 88th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vergaray Arriola in the 90th minute of play forced Atlético Esperanza F.C.'s goalkeeper Tenorio Rubina to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
