Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) C.S. EMELEC's Freddy Queduro started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Xzavaier Marin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodrigo Deleyto in the 4th minute of the match. The supporters of C.S. EMELEC booed when Paquishapa SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reynaldo Doria didn't get a good kick on the ball. Franco Baul took the ball and in the 10 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Xzavaier Marin. Xzavaier Marin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. When Freddy Queduro fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored C.S. EMELEC's protests and gave Freddy Queduro a yellow card for diving instead. In the 13th minute, Freddy Queduro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to C.S. EMELEC getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Ugutz Obispo hit a great ball. Franco Baul recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Xzavaier Marin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rodrigo Deleyto went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. After 30 minutes, Diego Michelena mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Paquishapa SC and the C.S. EMELEC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Diego Michelena hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Paquishapa SC's Oswaldo Tigero proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Paquishapa SC from getting a goal against them. Diego Michelena was shown his second yellow card after 36 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to Paquishapa SC getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Diego Michelena hit a great ball. If Renán Parte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 46th play minute Renán Parte came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Oswaldo Tigero. 1-3. After the first half Paquishapa SC were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Franco Baul was the one to do the kick off. In the 54thth minute of the game Renán Parte who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Paquishapa SC's Oswaldo Tigero was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Renán Parte's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Oswaldo Tigero was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. If Renán Parte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Franco Baul fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xzavaier Marin having to interfere. Renán Parte recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the C.S. EMELEC defense, Franco Baul kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Xzavaier Marin. The C.S. EMELEC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Xzavaier Marin should have stopped the shot. Luis-Antonio Bugarin hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Renán Parte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oswaldo Tigero having to interfere. After having played for 90 minutes, Francisco Valdeliso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C.S. EMELEC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Francisco Valdeliso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 93 minutes into the match, Paquishapa SC's Eduardo Orallo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Xzavaier Marin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Oswaldo Tigero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Renán Parte in the 96th minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Paquishapa SC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
