The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a little luck, Taxichi SC's Maximo Ariztegui got control of the ball when Zavior Pedolles tried to sneak it across the goal line. Maximo Ariztegui showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Camilo Mioño in the 4th minute of the match. UD Mompiche's Chiriboga Rilo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustavo Narez in the 5th minute of play. Maximo Ariztegui took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Camilo Mioño, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 9 played minutes Taxichi SC got a freekick which was hit by Ximeno Olloque. Maximo Ariztegui was a little too slow when Camilo Mioño got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 12th minute. The score was now 1-0. Chiriboga Rilo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diego Casquete in the 16th minute of the match. 19 minutes into the match, UD Mompiche's goal looked a bit too open when Héctor Cerrudemos came free, but Chiriboga Rilo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Camilo Mioño in the 22nd minute of play forced Taxichi SC's goalkeeper Maximo Ariztegui to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zavior Pedolles got free with Maximo Ariztegui in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Héctor Cerrudemos in the 28th minute of play forced UD Mompiche's goalkeeper Chiriboga Rilo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. UD Mompiche's Chiriboga Rilo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Héctor Cerrudemos in the 30th minute of play. A collision led to Taxichi SC getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Gabriel Urtasabel hit a great ball. Gustavo Narez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Chiriboga Rilo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Diego Casquete struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Chiriboga Rilo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Taxichi SC. Chiriboga Rilo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diego Casquete in the 40th minute of play. In the 41st minute, Camilo Mioño hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Maximo Ariztegui showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Camilo Mioño in the 43rd minute of the match. Zavior Pedolles could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Maximo Ariztegui made a huge save. In the 46th minute, Héctor Cerrudemos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Chiriboga Rilo was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Diego Casquete to make the kick off. With 54 minutes on the clock, Gabriel Urtasabel commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 58th minute, Camilo Mioño hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Diego Casquete had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Camilo Mioño in the 72nd minute of play forced Taxichi SC's goalkeeper Maximo Ariztegui to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Camilo Mioño got free in front of the goal in the 73rd minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Maximo Ariztegui was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. The supporters of UD Mompiche booed when Taxichi SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Blandón Bartolome didn't get a good kick on the ball.
