The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Montalvo Freije took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Veronica Aldaz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 12 minutes into the match, CD Rosaspamba's goal looked a bit too open when Veremundo Sobero came free, but Adrian Carnicero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Villota Tellado during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Villota Tellado could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Adrian Carnicero made a huge save. Roque Eguiara hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Vera Ribacoba was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 23rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 27 minutes into the match, Chanquinima FC's Veremundo Sobero sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Adrian Carnicero narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 30 minutes into the match, Villota Tellado notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of CD Rosaspamba's Adrian Carnicero. Adrian Carnicero was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 33 minutes into the match, CD Rosaspamba's goalkeeper Adrian Carnicero had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Villota Tellado. In the 37th minute, Veremundo Sobero reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Adrian Carnicero. The goal made the score 2-0. A collision led to CD Rosaspamba getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Ataulfo Larrauri hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Villota Tellado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chanquinima FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Villota Tellado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adrian Carnicero breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Veremundo Sobero to strike the kick off in the second half. Villota Tellado's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adrian Carnicero read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. If Villota Tellado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. CD Rosaspamba's Veronica Aldaz got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Veronica Aldaz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Montalvo Freije read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. Adrian Carnicero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Veremundo Sobero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Adrian Carnicero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Villota Tellado, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Ledesma Costilla's late challenge caught a Chanquinima FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ledesma Costilla helped the player get up and apologised. In the 68th minute, Ledesma Costilla hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Veremundo Sobero struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Adrian Carnicero didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chanquinima FC. A hard shot 74 in the game by Ricardo Tixido from a close distance when the talented Montalvo Freije managed to make a qualified save. Chanquinima FC's players were relieved. An unexpectedly hard shot by Veronica Aldaz in the 75th minute of play forced Chanquinima FC's goalkeeper Montalvo Freije to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 88 minutes into the match, CD Rosaspamba's goal looked a bit too open when Villota Tellado came free, but Adrian Carnicero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Villota Tellado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chanquinima FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Villota Tellado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Veronica Aldaz took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Montalvo Freije. Montalvo Freije dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Chanquinima FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while CD Rosaspamba had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
