In the 5th match minute, -XtremoX- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Umea Imaz to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Cruz Azul defense, Calisto Verganzo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zuñiga Miras. The Cruz Azul fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zuñiga Miras should have stopped the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Azconzábal Retes got free with Santiago Ledesma in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Domingo Muños kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, José-Manuel Salomon managed to get in a good position for a shot. -XtremoX-'s supporters rose to their feet, but José-Manuel Salomon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zuñiga Miras breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Zuñiga Miras made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Calisto Verganzo in the 15th minute of play. José-Manuel Salomon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zuñiga Miras having to interfere. José-Manuel Salomon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a rather tough play, Cruz Azul's Omar Naveros got a free kick in the 24th minute. In the 29thth minute of the game José-Manuel Salomon who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cruz Azul's Zuñiga Miras was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 30th minute José-Manuel Salomon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zuñiga Miras saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 32 minutes of play, -XtremoX-'s Paolo Chagavia made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zuñiga Miras was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 37 minutes, Azconzábal Retes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cruz Azul's supporters crossed their fingers, but Azconzábal Retes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The long shot by Omar Naveros in the 41st minute really tested Santiago Ledesma's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Santiago Ledesma came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by Cruz Azul's Antero Jatkola. But to his dismay, Antero Jatkola quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Santiago Ledesma showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Antero Jatkola, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Santiago Ledesma took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antero Jatkola, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Azconzábal Retes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Antero Jatkola in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Santiago Ledesma prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Omar Naveros lost his temper 66 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. With his leg Zuñiga Miras managed to avoid a goal in the 71stth minute, when -XtremoX-'s Calisto Verganzo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 74 minutes into the match, -XtremoX-'s goal looked a bit too open when Antero Jatkola came free, but Santiago Ledesma reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the -XtremoX- defense, Azconzábal Retes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Santiago Ledesma. The -XtremoX- fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Santiago Ledesma should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Cruz Azul booed when -XtremoX- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Umea Imaz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Santiago Ledesma made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Azconzábal Retes in the 89th minute of play. Manuel Azpe's late challenge caught a Cruz Azul's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Manuel Azpe helped the player get up and apologised. In the 97th match minute, -XtremoX- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manuel Azpe to maneuver through the defense. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. -XtremoX- walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
