Duarte Vasquez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ramiro Valcazar in the 10th minute of the match. Humberto Zabalo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuel Cuffaro having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers López Bocos in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Samuel Cuffaro saved Los Galacticos F.C. from getting behind. Agustin Mandelo struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Samuel Cuffaro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Zeilan FC. After the first half Zeilan FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Roque Cardeña stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If López Bocos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 52nd minute, Agustin Mandelo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. López Bocos who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 55thth minute tested the skills of Samuel Cuffaro when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 55th minute, Segundo Torcida hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Xarles Sanabria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. López Bocos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. In the 75th minute Roque Cardeña shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Duarte Vasquez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 76 minutes into the match, Roque Cardeña had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Duarte Vasquez. Zeilan FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Roque Cardeña was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. 82 minutes into the game, Vladimiro Menor cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Duarte Vasquez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ramiro Valcazar in the 87th minute of play forced Zeilan FC's goalkeeper Duarte Vasquez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when López Bocos got free with Samuel Cuffaro in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 93 minutes into the game, one of Zeilan FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 96th minute there was a penalty for Los Galacticos F.C.. Blandón Herran stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Duarte Vasquez. 3-2. Zeilan FC's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Los Galacticos F.C. had won, even though Zeilan FC had held more of the ball.
