Ramirez Mortal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zambrano Paracuellos, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Zayvius Morelle recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 16th minute, Victor Olando ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Walme Barraza was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Eduardo Bravain hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. 27 minutes into the match, UD Sarayunga's goal looked a bit too open when Zambrano Paracuellos came free, but Ramirez Mortal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, UD Sarayunga's Ramirez Mortal got control of the ball when Sergio Bodegas tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 37th minute Zayvius Morelle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walme Barraza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Victor Olando blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Walme Barraza having to make a save. 43 minutes into the game, Zayvius Morelle cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Walme Barraza was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Borneo FC's Sergio Bodegas got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zambrano Paracuellos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Eduardo Merecilla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Ramirez Mortal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 58 minutes, Eduardo Merecilla managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Borneo FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eduardo Merecilla was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Victor Olando had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zayvius Morelle couldn't finish the play. Walme Barraza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zayvius Morelle in the 70th minute of the match. Zayvius Morelle might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Walme Barraza. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Walme Barraza made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Zambrano Paracuellos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ramirez Mortal having to interfere.
