In the 70thth minute of the game Zeledon Leira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but CD Pumallacta's Urbano Periceira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Yoelvis Franquis was a little too slow when Arnoldo Lemayo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 95th minute. The score was now 0-2. The CD Pumallacta supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing CD Pumallacta would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
