The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Erwin Lebrija charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The CD Pumallacta fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Klimowitz Guinao fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Urbano Periceira having to interfere. Urbano Periceira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Klimowitz Guinao, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. After a rather tough play, CD Pumallacta's Facundo Viteri got a free kick in the 19th minute. Klimowitz Guinao took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Urbano Periceira. Urbano Periceira dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Klimowitz Guinao sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 29 minutes into the match, CD Pumallacta's goal looked a bit too open when Klimowitz Guinao came free, but Urbano Periceira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. CD Pumallacta's Urbano Periceira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Klimowitz Guinao in the 31st minute of play. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind CD Pumallacta's goalkeeper Urbano Periceira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Roger Cañon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Erwin Lebrija came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Arajuno fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Erwin Lebrija couldn't finish the play. Carnero Gili got a throw-in 44 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Facundo Viteri. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

If Klimowitz Guinao had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 58th minute, Klimowitz Guinao got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Roger Cañon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Urbano Periceira having to interfere. Roger Cañon scored 1-2 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Urbano Periceira, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 72 minutes into the game, Segundo Saribiarte cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Vicente Amondo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Klimowitz Guinao recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Roger Cañon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Klimowitz Guinao in the 86th minute of play forced CD Pumallacta's goalkeeper Urbano Periceira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 89th minute of the game. One of Arajuno:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of CD Pumallacta:s goal. If Roger Cañon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Facundo Viteri fell near the penalty area in the 97th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CD Pumallacta's protests and gave Facundo Viteri a yellow card for diving instead. In the 97th match minute, CD Pumallacta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Facundo Viteri to maneuver through the defense. Despite being the better team, Arajuno failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
