RiverEcuador's Patricio Hebia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save RiverEcuador from getting a goal against them. In the 8th minute Fortunato Tofino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patricio Hebia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Justavino Aya took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ubarna Bernabe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When RiverEcuador's Ubarna Bernabe in the 14th minute got a chance for a shot 14th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Charapoto SC's goalie prevented a goal. With a little luck, RiverEcuador's Patricio Hebia got control of the ball when Noriega Angostina tried to sneak it across the goal line. The RiverEcuador fans' excitement grew in the 28th match minute when RiverEcuador's Ubarna Bernabe looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 33 minutes into the game, Mauricio Antequera was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Charapoto SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave RiverEcuador the free kick. In the 33rd match minute, Charapoto SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mauricio Antequera to maneuver through the defense. 35 minutes in the game, Ubarna Bernabe dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Justavino Aya showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ubarna Bernabe in the 41st minute of the match. Patricio Hebia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fortunato Tofino, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. After having played for 46 minutes, Ubarna Bernabe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. RiverEcuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ubarna Bernabe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Charapoto SC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. RiverEcuador were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marcelino Poves was the one to do the kick off. With his leg Justavino Aya managed to avoid a goal in the 53rdth minute, when RiverEcuador's Ubarna Bernabe fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Texeira Iturralde had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Charapoto SC's goalkeeper Justavino Aya, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Charapoto SC's Mauricio Antequera got his second yellow card of the match in the 60th minute. The referee ordered Mauricio Antequera off the ground. In the 62nd minute, José-Luis Cedrun hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 65 minutes, Ubarna Bernabe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. RiverEcuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ubarna Bernabe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Charapoto SC's Justavino Aya played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelino Poves in the 68th minute of play. Marcelino Poves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Charapoto SC's goalkeeper Justavino Aya, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Marcelino Poves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Ubarna Bernabe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, RiverEcuador's Urtun Cascos got a free kick in the 89th minute. 95 minutes into the match, RiverEcuador's Marcelino Poves sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Justavino Aya narrowly saved just below the crossbar. RiverEcuador's Ubarna Bernabe got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the final whistle sounded RiverEcuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Charapoto SC.
