UD Celen's Joel Ledo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save UD Celen from getting a goal against them. Joel Ledo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ubaldo Fontecha, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. In the 21stth minute of the game Ubaldo Fontecha who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but UD Celen's Joel Ledo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Joel Ledo stood somewhat misplaced when Ubaldo Fontecha came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 27 minute. UD Celen's Joel Ledo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ubaldo Fontecha in the 35th minute of play. 41 minutes into the match, UD Celen's goal looked a bit too open when Ubaldo Fontecha came free, but Joel Ledo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ubaldo Fontecha in the 43rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joel Ledo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 44th match minute, UD Celen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zilar Aquino to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, UD Celen's Joel Ledo got control of the ball when Ysidro Can tried to sneak it across the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ubaldo Fontecha stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Krikorian Seoane made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Calisto Hedesa in the 51st minute of play. A collision led to Esmeraldas SC getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Borja Montesinos hit a great ball. Zilar Aquino could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Krikorian Seoane made a huge save. When Ysidro Can came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Esmeraldas SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ysidro Can couldn't finish the play. 61 minutes into the game, one of UD Celen:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Esmeraldas SC a penalty, 63 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ubaldo Fontecha, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of UD Celen's Joel Ledo. 2-0. Joel Ledo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ubaldo Fontecha in the 66th minute of the match. Ubaldo Fontecha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joel Ledo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ysidro Can, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. The supporters of Esmeraldas SC booed when UD Celen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hernan Escalzo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 76th minute Ysidro Can shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joel Ledo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 77th minute of the match Urtsin Isasi sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Joel Ledo skillfully saved the ball. Krikorian Seoane showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zilar Aquino, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. After 81 minutes of play, Esmeraldas SC's Ysidro Can made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joel Ledo was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 85thth minute of the game Vera Badas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Esmeraldas SC's Krikorian Seoane was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 89 minutes into the game, Ubaldo Fontecha cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Joel Ledo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 93rd minute Ysidro Can shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joel Ledo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 94 minutes into the game, Calisto Hedesa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. UD Celen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Esmeraldas SC the free kick. After 94 played minutes UD Celen got a freekick which was hit by Calisto Hedesa. Esmeraldas SC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ubaldo Fontecha in the 96th minute. It was a well-played corner which Justavino Maixenchs managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Esmeraldas SC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
