Corozo Pernau sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Gómez Carrasco put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Ysidro Cota. In the 33rd minute, Gómez Carrasco fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After 36 minutes, Zeledon Renteria made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. CD Guachanama's Stacio Sabando tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Corozo Pernau could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Ysidro Cota made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Gómez Carrasco managed to get in a good position for a shot. CD Guachanama's supporters rose to their feet, but Gómez Carrasco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ysidro Cota breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

In the 55th match minute, Rio Sibimbe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Justavino Manrique to maneuver through the defense. José-Manuel Garro took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 55th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ysidro Cota. Rio Sibimbe's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Ysidro Cota showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gómez Carrasco, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Stacio Sabando made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eduardo Runs in the 64th minute. In the 65th minute, Zeledon Renteria left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rio Sibimbe fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Corozo Pernau in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ysidro Cota saved Rio Sibimbe from getting behind. Eduardo Runs's late challenge caught a CD Guachanama's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eduardo Runs helped the player get up and apologised. After 82 played minutes Rio Sibimbe got a freekick which was hit by Eduardo Runs. Ysidro Cota showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Corozo Pernau in the 84th minute of the match. Corozo Pernau fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ysidro Cota having to interfere. Ubelteso Marto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Rio Sibimbe had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
