Justavino Madariaga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xamin Holgado, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. 7 minutes into the match, Tuban's goal looked a bit too open when Zuñiga Viñales came free, but Zuñiga Servicial reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zuñiga Viñales fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zuñiga Servicial having to interfere. Ugutz Saldoval received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Justavino Madariaga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

A wasted opportunity for Tuban. 64 minutes into the game, Vennancio Maiz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AEK Liga de Quito's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tuban the free kick. 68 minutes into the match, Tuban's Ugutz Saldoval sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Justavino Madariaga narrowly saved just below the crossbar. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Juan-Carlos Bonifaz couldn't finish the play. After 75 played minutes AEK Liga de Quito got a freekick which was hit by Uxio Andrada. A collision led to AEK Liga de Quito getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Vennancio Maiz hit a great ball. AEK Liga de Quito's Justavino Madariaga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xamin Holgado in the 95th minute of play. In the 97th minute, Xamin Holgado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. AEK Liga de Quito's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
