Spectators: 33 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Zuñiga Viñales took the kick off in the first half of the match. 3 minutes into the match, Zuñiga Viñales dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Xurxo Segurola, 1-0. With a little luck, FC Villamil's Xurxo Segurola got control of the ball when Juan-Carlos Bonifaz tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 17 minutes, Lorenzo Hilari mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Villamil and the AEK Liga de Quito players grew even worse after the yellow card. Lorenzo Hilari kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Juan-Carlos Bonifaz managed to get in a good position for a shot. AEK Liga de Quito's supporters rose to their feet, but Juan-Carlos Bonifaz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Xurxo Segurola breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Justavino Madariaga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lorenzo Hilari in the 21st minute of play. Xurxo Segurola showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zuñiga Viñales, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. When the match had gone on for 26 minutes, Octavio Cadiñanos put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Justavino Madariaga. The supporters of AEK Liga de Quito booed when FC Villamil was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Octavio Cadiñanos didn't get a good kick on the ball. 39 minutes into the game, Vennancio Maiz recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Xurxo Segurola. Vennancio Maiz showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. Velasco Villoldo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Justavino Madariaga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 47 minutes, Lorenzo Hilari managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Villamil's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lorenzo Hilari was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Velasco Villoldo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind AEK Liga de Quito's goalkeeper Justavino Madariaga, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Vennancio Maiz kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Velasco Villoldo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Justavino Madariaga made a huge save. Vennancio Maiz's late challenge caught a FC Villamil's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vennancio Maiz helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to AEK Liga de Quito getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Vennancio Maiz hit a great ball. 58 minutes had been played when some careless play by AEK Liga de Quito's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gustavo Abella was slow to take the kick. During this time FC Villamil's players had a chance to rest. 60 minutes into the game, Velasco Villoldo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Justavino Madariaga was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. AEK Liga de Quito's Justavino Madariaga proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save AEK Liga de Quito from getting a goal against them. In the 72nd minute, Ayoví Vazquez ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Xurxo Segurola was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. Xurxo Segurola made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zuñiga Viñales in the 75th minute of play. Octavio Cadiñanos hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. When Velasco Villoldo came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the FC Villamil fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Velasco Villoldo couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, AEK Liga de Quito's Juan-Carlos Bonifaz got a free kick in the 90th minute. 92 minutes into the match, AEK Liga de Quito's goalkeeper Justavino Madariaga had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Velasco Villoldo. Velasco Villoldo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Justavino Madariaga having to interfere. 97 minutes into the game, Lorenzo Hilari cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-3. Justavino Madariaga was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. AEK Liga de Quito succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though FC Villamil had controlled the match.
