When the match clock showed 37 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Nicolas Villaciergo sped through Cachitoma FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Sotomayor Señor. Nicolas Villaciergo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sotomayor Señor having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ubaldo Cascos to make the kick off. Giron's Emilio Artaza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ubaldo Cascos in the 52nd minute of play. Ulizes Murillas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Emilio Artaza didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ubaldo Cascos went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. The supporters of Cachitoma FC booed when Giron was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Michael Cordero didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 68th minute Ulizes Murillas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emilio Artaza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Michael Cordero got his second yellow card in the match during the 68th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 88th minute, one of Giron:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Giron. Nicolas Villaciergo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Sotomayor Señor made a huge save. Cachitoma FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Giron for a fine match.
