With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leon Lejarazu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 9th minute Bolívar Guardamino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leon Lejarazu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 9th minute, Nicolás Come hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leon Lejarazu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Murillo Redeño in the 13th minute of the match. The referee ignored CD Vinoyacu's protests and gave Wilfredo Zaldo a yellow card for diving instead. Estevez Espantoso was slow to take the kick. During this time CD Andariales's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on CD Andariales's corner Estevez Espantoso fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Emilio Cascales quite easily take care of the ball. After a rather tough play, CD Vinoyacu's Bolívar Guardamino got a free kick in the 21st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Igor Barrantes managed to get in a good position for a shot. CD Andariales's supporters rose to their feet, but Igor Barrantes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emilio Cascales breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Igor Barrantes in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emilio Cascales saved CD Vinoyacu from getting behind. Estevez Espantoso kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Nicolás Come kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, CD Andariales's Vellito Grados got a free kick in the 37th minute. Leon Lejarazu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Murillo Redeño, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Murillo Redeño received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Leon Lejarazu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leon Lejarazu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Mota in the 43rd minute of play. Emilio Cascales showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Igor Barrantes in the 45th minute of the match. Igor Barrantes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Emilio Cascales read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Murillo Redeño made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Bolívar Guardamino managed to get in a good position for a shot. Leon Lejarazu came out of the goal and Murillo Redeño tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gustavo Botbol fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emilio Cascales having to interfere. Igor Barrantes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Emilio Cascales tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Nicolás Come had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vitor Letatu kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Emilio Cascales made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustavo Botbol in the 76th minute of play. David Sarasola charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
