Carlos-Armando Tipular fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Monge Escude having to interfere. Ayuy's Eugenio Rotaetamorga proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Ayuy from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos-Armando Tipular in the 30th minute of play forced UD Joa's goalkeeper Monge Escude to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Claudio Villarprego who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 31stth minute tested the skills of Eugenio Rotaetamorga when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Carlos-Armando Tipular's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Monge Escude was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. UD Joa's Tomas Vasquez got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Claudio Villarprego sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Monge Escude showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfonso Urruchua in the 48th minute of the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Claudio Villarprego made a kick off. 53 minutes into the match, UD Joa's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos-Armando Tipular came free, but Monge Escude reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Ayuy's Carlos-Armando Tipular in the 57th minute got a chance for a shot 57th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Eugenio Rotaetamorga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Claudio Villarprego's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eugenio Rotaetamorga read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. If Tomas Vasquez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Carlos-Armando Tipular received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Monge Escude tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. UD Joa were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
