Tomas Vasquez charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 30th minute of the match Brito Bedia sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Monge Escude skillfully saved the ball. Calderón Perdiz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Monge Escude having to interfere. UD Joa's Marco Joli got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 40 minutes into the match, Charqui's goalkeeper Wellington Amenedo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Claudio Villarprego. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Veto Ameda was the one to do the kick off. After 53 played minutes Charqui got a freekick which was hit by Loco Godines. After a defensive mix-up in Charqui's zone, Marco Joli stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wellington Amenedo came out of the goal and Marco Joli tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Calderón Perdiz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Monge Escude having to interfere. Calderón Perdiz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Loco Godines fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Charqui's protests and gave Loco Godines a yellow card for diving instead. Loco Godines hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Veto Ameda's late challenge caught a UD Joa's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Veto Ameda helped the player get up and apologised. In the 62nd match minute, Charqui was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Veto Ameda to maneuver through the defense. Wellington Amenedo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marco Joli's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. Monge Escude showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Loco Godines, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute.
