In the 15th minute, Leo Borrero got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Leo Borrero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If David Roches had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience was convinced that David Roches's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rogelio Garro was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. Teofilio Marichalar ran back to his position shaking his head. Nunez Urtueta's late challenge caught a Penas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nunez Urtueta helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, UD Cachahuaico's Nunez Urtueta got a free kick in the 34th minute. UD Cachahuaico's Gonzalo Padolles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teofilio Marichalar in the 36th minute of play. If Martinez Hortega had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 48th minute, Teofilio Marichalar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when David Roches stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Penas's Rogelio Garro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Roches in the 54th minute of play. The supporters of Penas booed when UD Cachahuaico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Denis Marto didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience held their breath when Xzaver Obiaga in the 57th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Gonzalo Padolles's left hand side. Rogelio Garro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leo Borrero in the 60th minute. In the 60th minute, Martinez Hortega hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Roches in the 61st minute of play forced Penas's goalkeeper Rogelio Garro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gonzalo Padolles came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by Penas's Rosario Varon. But to his dismay, Rosario Varon quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Kaviedes Aroztegui's late challenge caught a UD Cachahuaico's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kaviedes Aroztegui helped the player get up and apologised. Kaviedes Aroztegui hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Fernández Rada charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fernández Rada the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 71 played minutes Penas got a freekick which was hit by Fernández Rada. After a defensive mix-up in Penas's zone, David Roches stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rogelio Garro came out of the goal and David Roches tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. David Roches sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 77th minute, Boris Bandera hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 81 minutes into the match, UD Cachahuaico's Leo Borrero sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rogelio Garro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. David Roches was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 83rd minute. UD Cachahuaico's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance.
