Guallupe's Ramon Amezua played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xuaco Trabado in the 15th minute of play. If Valentine Gandio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot 23 in the game by Ramon Arenillas from a close distance when the talented Xavieon Tornamira managed to make a qualified save. Gualaquiza SC's players were relieved. In the 26th minute, Xuaco Trabado made a precise shot to the right of Ramon Amezua. Guallupe's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. A collision led to Gualaquiza SC getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Cotera Arbulo hit a great ball. In the 31st minute of the match Guallupe got a corner. Gualaquiza SC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alex Riguez ran over to the corner to take the kick. Xavieon Tornamira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jama Atauri, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Xuaco Trabado made a kick off. Gualaquiza SC's Xuaco Trabado got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ramon Amezua was a little too slow when Xzavier Ardines got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 55th minute. The score was now 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xuaco Trabado in the 59th minute of play forced Guallupe's goalkeeper Ramon Amezua to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 72 played minutes Guallupe got a freekick which was hit by Caicedo Portas. After 73 played minutes, Gualaquiza SC's Moisés Boñal shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ramon Amezua came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Gualaquiza SC reached it. Ramon Amezua made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xuaco Trabado in the 79th minute of play. Valentine Gandio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Xavieon Tornamira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 84 minutes into the game, one of Gualaquiza SC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The supporters of Guallupe booed when Gualaquiza SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cotera Arbulo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 90th minute of the match Alex Riguez shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Xavieon Tornamira showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jama Atauri in the 94th minute of play forced Gualaquiza SC's goalkeeper Xavieon Tornamira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Gualaquiza SC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
