Norberto Eguiara recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Raúl Val came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the CD Pomallacta fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raúl Val couldn't finish the play. José Orense took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 19th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Rodney Fabeiro. CD Pomallacta's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Valerio Azpe fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CD Pomallacta's protests and gave Valerio Azpe a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, CD Pomallacta's Valerio Azpe got a free kick in the 21st minute. Erwin Armero hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. 28 minutes into the game, CD Pomallacta's Pio Mathey nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Villarreal Trasmiera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. After 31 played minutes CD Pomallacta got a freekick which was hit by Sotomayor Calzada. When Curiachi's Xan Aoiz in 34 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Rodney Fabeiro guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Raúl Val took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Villarreal Trasmiera. Villarreal Trasmiera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. If Xan Aoiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Juan-Carlos Santamaria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Xan Aoiz made a kick off. The supporters of Curiachi booed when CD Pomallacta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dario Azcona didn't get a good kick on the ball. Juan-Carlos Santamaria fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodney Fabeiro having to interfere. Curiachi's Villarreal Trasmiera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pio Mathey in the 80th minute of play. After a rather tough play, CD Pomallacta's Pio Mathey got a free kick in the 83rd minute. A nice corner shot did that Dani Casillas got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Villarreal Trasmiera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The crowd rose to their feet as Xan Aoiz kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Rodney Fabeiro. That made the score 2-1 in the 96 minute of play. Curiachi's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
