Angel Alcedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marco Pecina having to interfere. Xian Ciriaca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 25th minute of the match, Angel Alcedo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Marco Pecina saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. If Fricson Dopacio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to CD Charapoto getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Ismael Consul hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Xian Ciriaca in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Demetrio Marty saved CD Charapoto from getting behind. 44 minutes into the match, Xian Ciriaca had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Demetrio Marty. CD Charapoto's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Xian Ciriaca was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Xian Ciriaca to strike the kick off in the second half. Angel Alcedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Suárez Eraña in the 55th minute of play forced UD Gonsapamba's goalkeeper Marco Pecina to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 58 minutes into the match, UD Gonsapamba's goal looked a bit too open when Suárez Eraña came free, but Marco Pecina reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. UD Gonsapamba's Valencia Urquizu suffered a concussion in the 62nd minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. When Suárez Eraña fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CD Charapoto's protests and gave Suárez Eraña a yellow card for diving instead. Suárez Eraña hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Demetrio Marty made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Fricson Dopacio sent off a good shot on target. Marco Pecina showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Angel Alcedo in the 67th minute of the match. 73 minutes into the match, UD Gonsapamba's goal looked a bit too open when Suárez Eraña came free, but Marco Pecina reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 82 minutes into the match, CD Charapoto's goalkeeper Demetrio Marty had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fricson Dopacio. After a defensive mix-up in UD Gonsapamba's zone, Victor Cora stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marco Pecina came out of the goal and Victor Cora tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
