Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Juan-Carlos Peñalba got the match started through his kick off. Michael Gonzales made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Trota Alija sent off a good shot on target. Gullan's Fabio Maide got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Miguel Garavilla during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Trota Alija sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Fabio Maide came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Gullan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fabio Maide couldn't finish the play. Machado Cachurro struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Xerardo Fortes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Marcabeli. A collision led to Gullan getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Daniel Egaña hit a great ball. In the 27th minute, Fabio Maide ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Michael Gonzales was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Vermudo Arenchen kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. After 33 played minutes, Marcabeli's Jorge Casasola shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Xerardo Fortes came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Marcabeli reached it. If Fabio Maide had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 38 minutes, Daniel Egaña managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gullan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Egaña was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Trota Alija was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Marcabeli's Hector Piñeira got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Fabio Maide received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Michael Gonzales tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Xerardo Fortes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juan-Carlos Peñalba in the 58th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Gullan's zone, Juan-Carlos Peñalba stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Xerardo Fortes came out of the goal and Juan-Carlos Peñalba tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 69th match minute, Gullan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vermudo Arenchen to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 73 minutes, Trota Alija put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Michael Gonzales. Juan-Carlos Peñalba received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Xerardo Fortes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Trota Alija sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 89 played minutes Gullan got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Egaña. Jorge Casasola took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 90th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Xerardo Fortes. Gullan's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Machado Cachurro was extremely unlucky when he, in the 92nd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Juan-Carlos Peñalba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xerardo Fortes having to interfere. Machado Cachurro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Gullan were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Marcabeli for a fine match.
