Oso Rienda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Fabian Trespalacios tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Limon SC's Ramiro Sarries got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 7 minutes into the game, Arias Pabon was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CD Laurel's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Limon SC the free kick. The supporters of Limon SC booed when CD Laurel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arias Pabon didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ramiro Sarries kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. In the 10th minute, Rodolfo Udaeta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jairo Sorrarain showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodolfo Udaeta in the 18th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ramiro Sarries in the 23rd minute of play forced CD Laurel's goalkeeper Fabian Trespalacios to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 31st minute Ramiro Sarries shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabian Trespalacios saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fabian Trespalacios showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ramiro Sarries, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Jairo Sorrarain took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodolfo Udaeta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Limon SC's Jairo Sorrarain got control of the ball when Veremundo Carretero tried to sneak it across the goal line. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ramiro Sarries to make the kick off. Jairo Sorrarain came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by CD Laurel's Veremundo Carretero. But to his dismay, Veremundo Carretero quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rodolfo Udaeta in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jairo Sorrarain prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Ramiro Sarries came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Limon SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ramiro Sarries couldn't finish the play. Cortez Grado's late challenge caught a Limon SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cortez Grado helped the player get up and apologised. Veremundo Carretero's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jairo Sorrarain read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. Ramiro Sarries struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Fabian Trespalacios didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Limon SC. Oso Rienda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabian Trespalacios having to interfere. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
