The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Orfilio Alberca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luis Homar having to interfere. Novillo SC's Luis Homar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Orfilio Alberca in the 20th minute of play. In the 22nd minute, Ruperto Armenteros ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luis Homar was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. When Cevallos Heres came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Novillo SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cevallos Heres couldn't finish the play. Calderón Altemiz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Xaver Guardiola in the 31st minute. Gerinoma's Ruperto Armenteros got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 40th minute, Cevallos Heres hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 43rd minute of the match Gerinoma got a corner. Novillo SC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Marlon Cernadas ran over to the corner to take the kick. Marlon Cernadas made a great header on Gerinoma's corner, it was just that Novillo SC's Luis Homar managed to reach the ball for a save. Cevallos Heres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Casado Vivar was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Novillo SC booed when Gerinoma was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos-Alberto Gene didn't get a good kick on the ball. Calderón Altemiz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xaver Guardiola in the 52nd minute of the match. In the 59th minute, Gerinoma's Ruperto Armenteros ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Luis Homar. Luis Homar yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. Calderón Altemiz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Casado Vivar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gerinoma's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Orfilio Alberca managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gerinoma's supporters rose to their feet, but Orfilio Alberca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luis Homar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Xaiver Cosmen kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Ruperto Armenteros recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luis Homar acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 91st minute, took the ball on the long shot from Marlon Cernadas.
