Ovando Andibidria succeeded in the game's 3rd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. Fernandez Laguardia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Walter Lerena in the 7th minute of play. If Kaviedes Rey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 15th match minute, UD Shinshun was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zuri Villaluenga to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 17 minutes, Ovando Andibidria managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gualaquiza SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ovando Andibidria was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fernandez Laguardia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kaviedes Rey in the 22nd minute of the match. Gualaquiza SC's Ovando Andibidria got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 26th minute, Walter Lerena got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Kaviedes Rey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Fernandez Laguardia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Walter Lerena, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. The referee felt a red card was in order, 32 minutes into the game, when Hidalgo Benito put in a rough tackle. In the 31st minute, one of Gualaquiza SC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Gualaquiza SC. In the 34th minute there was a penalty for UD Shinshun. Palacios Torres stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Fernandez Laguardia. 2-1. Gualaquiza SC's Fernandez Laguardia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kaviedes Rey in the 41st minute of play. If Zuri Villaluenga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The attack was good, but when Walter Lerena in the 47th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bran Torrez to make the kick off. Poroso Tellez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Texeira Salgado, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Walter Lerena came free with the goalkeeper in the 54th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Fernandez Laguardia could save by the left post. Walter Lerena could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Fernandez Laguardia made a huge save. In the 59th minute, UD Shinshun's Kaviedes Rey ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Fernandez Laguardia. Fernandez Laguardia yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. After having played for 73 minutes, Kaviedes Rey managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. UD Shinshun's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kaviedes Rey was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kaviedes Rey charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kaviedes Rey the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Gualaquiza SC booed when UD Shinshun was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kaviedes Rey didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fernandez Laguardia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kaviedes Rey in the 78th minute of the match. With an all-out effort, UD Shinshun's Fernandez Laguardia threw himself towards the right post 89 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Kaviedes Rey, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 91st minute Kaviedes Rey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernandez Laguardia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kaviedes Rey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fernandez Laguardia made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Walter Lerena sent off a good shot on target. Bran Torrez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. UD Shinshun's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
