If Teofilio Iturrate had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teofilio Iturrate in the 25th minute of play forced Guinzhun's goalkeeper Ovando Brena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30th match minute, Guinzhun was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristian Monte to maneuver through the defense. Teofilio Iturrate scored 0-2 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ovando Brena, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 39th minute Teofilio Iturrate shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ovando Brena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Paguancay fans' excitement grew in the 41st match minute when Paguancay's Geancarlos Marino looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Ovando Brena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teofilio Iturrate in the 44th minute of play. Teofilio Iturrate received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Cristian Monte hit a great ball. 91 minutes into the match, Guinzhun's goal looked a bit too open when Geancarlos Marino came free, but Ovando Brena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Paguancay supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Paguancay would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
